Pastor Dr. Raymond Morgan Harrison, Jr.

Harrison, Pastor Dr.Raymond Morgan, Jr. age 73, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2015 with his wife Jan & son Scott by his side. Ray was born October 25, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland to Mary Julia and Raymond Harrison Sr. He graduated from Baltimore City High School and the University of Maryland. He taught in the Baltimore Public School District. He received his Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and his Doctorate in Ministry from Luther Rice University. Ray started his pastoral ministry in Electra, Texas and pastored several more congregations. He finished his pastoring in 2012 at Cross of Life Community Church in Princeton where he served as interim and associate pastor for 3 years. Ray loved to preach the gospel and was a gifted teacher and mentor. On June 19th, 1987, Ray was married to the love of his life and soulmate, Janice Norlin Munns. Ray loved to read, play sports, travel and tend to his garden. He was best known for his sense of humor, his love of Chocolate Chip Cookies and of course his Baltimore Colts. Ray's greatest treasures were his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, his wife Jan, and his family and friends. He touched the hearts of many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Jan; children, Scott (Kari), Kimberly Marshall (Mark) and Eric; step children, Jennifer Mallia (Anthony) and Chris Munns; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Robert) and Patricia (Larry); many nieces, nephews and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and step son, David Munns. Funeral 11 AM Tuesday at New Hope Church, 4225 Gettysburg Ave. N., New Hope with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
