Lloyd R. Watson

Watson, Lloyd R. Age 74, of Walker. Died January 26, 2015, in Bemidji after fighting COPD with strength and good humor. As an infant, Lloyd and his sib-lings escaped a burning farmhouse in Motley. Partially raised in foster homes and orphanages, Lloyd had his own car and apartment in his mid-teens. He developed a strong mechanical mind despite not finishing junior high school. At age 17, Lloyd lied about his age to join Ware Manufacturing in Minneapolis, eventually rising to Vice President and retiring comfortably to Walker in 1998. Lloyd enjoyed restoring vintage cars, hunting, and family history. Survived by partner, Joanne Mitchell; former wife Adeline (Martineau); daughter Debra (Darwin) Rock; sons Russell (Anita), Jeffrey (Laurie), and Jonathan (Amy); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William; sister, Lioma Williams. Preceded in death by his parents, James and Bertha (Williams); several siblings; and grandson Travis Rock. No funeral as Lloyd preferred a celebration of life at a future date TBD.
