Amdahl (Fritz), Ruth Emma-Marie 99, born in St. Paul, July 14, 1915 died January 23, 2015. Preceded in death by husband, Harold N. Amdahl, mother Frieda C. Fritz (Mussgang) and father Arthur Carl Fritz. Survived by children Kristi J. (Amdahl) and William Nelson of St. Paul; Jim Amdahl and Cheryl Jordahl of Hopkins; and Kari J. Amdahl of Great Barrington, Mass; and grandsons, Leif (Katie) of Edina, and Jon Nelson of Bozeman, Mont; and Loren Amdahl-Culleton of Great Barrington, Mass. In 1938 Ruth graduated from Macalester College, St Paul 'Cum Laude' with a Bachelor's Degree, majoring in German and minoring in music. She received a Master's Degree in the Library Sciences from Simmons College, Boston, Mass. She worked as the medical librarian at Park Nicollet Medical Center for 13 years. She was a devout Lutheran with a deep and abiding faith, avid reader, enjoyed golf, bridge and created numerous oil paintings. Memorial service will be held Monday, February 2, at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 241 North Fifth Avenue, Hopkins. Visitation will be held one hour before service. Private internment. Memorials preferred to Zion Lutheran Church World Relief, World Vision, and Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.
