Harmon, Gaius Edward Jr. Age 87, of Arden Hills died December 13, 2014. Born December 26, 1926 to Gauis E Sr and Elizabeth Vail Harmon. Grew up with sister Betty Ann, and brothers James V and Judson A. Graduated from Murray High School in St. Anthony Park and joined the Navy in 1944. Rose to Seaman 1st Class / Signalman on the USS Buckeye. Graduated from the U of MN with a Masters of Education. Planned fun programs and hired great leaders as Mounds View Schools Recreation Director. Awarded MN Recreation Director of the Year. National Ski Patroller. Ran Snail Lake Ski Area in Shoreview with lifelong friend John Ernst. He is survived by his brother Jim and cousin Billy, sons Scott (Stephanie) and Brock (Holly), their mother Trude, granddaughters Allison and Heather, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. 'Harm' was an avid downhill skier, swimmer, fisherman, and north woods camper. He loved singing with his family, dancing with friends, travelling the world, and sitting down to a good book. Gaius was enthusiastic about all he did, and those lucky enough to be around him were enlivened along with him. Private graveside burial at Rose-lawn Cemetery.
