Skiba, L. Vernice age 85, of New Brighton, passed away peacefully November 21, 2014. Born in Minneapolis October 11, 1929. Grew up in Cokato. Wife of Eugene Skiba, Sr. for 50 years. Survived by daughters Laurie (Larry Miranda), Melissa (Mark Salisbury), Janelle, and son Gene, Jr., ten grandchildren, two great-grand-children; sister Luverne (Ernie) Ludwig and brother David (Frances) Jouppe and many other relatives and friends. Worked as bookkeeper at McLean Trucking. Loved to read and garden, and took great pride in her Finnish heritage. Visitation Tues., Nov. 25, 5-8 pm, at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, 706 4th Ave NW, New Brighton; a Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave NW, New Brighton Wed., Nov. 26 at 11 am with visitation an hour prior.
