Travalent, John J., III 50, of St. Simons Island, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 on St. Simons Island. A celebration of life gathering will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Born April 27, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri, he had been a resident of St. Simons Island for 20 years. Mr. Travalent was the owner operator of JT's Aircraft and was of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed the beach, spending time with his family and friends, playing with his dogs, working on airplanes and cars and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan. He was known on the island as JT who rode his bike everywhere, and he never met a stranger. Survivors include his wife of 6 years, Penny Travalent of St. Simons Island, two sons, John J. Travalent IV of Rosemount, MN, and Anthony Travalent of TX, his parents, Betty and John J. Travalent, Jr. of Overland Park, KS, two sisters, Annette Travalent of Overland Park, KS, and Jeanine Ilg and husband Larry of Savanna, IL, a brother, Michael Travalent and wife Martha of Stow, MA, two nephews, Michael and Noah Travalent, mother- & father- in-law Mary Jean and Lyle Ott of Elk River, MN, sisters- and brothers-in- law, Peggy and Troy Maciej of Zimmerman, MN and Rita and Darcy Bernard of Elk River, MN.
