Kinney, Brian Roy 65, formerly of Minneapolis, died November 18, 2014 at his home in North Wilkesboro, NC, after an extended illness. He was born on February 9, 1949, to Doris Annette (Watson) Kinney, and Louis Miller Kinney in Meadville, PA. After graduating from Wilkes Central High school in 1967, he traveled and landed in Minneapolis. He worked primarily in home construction and renovation. He married, raised a family, and enjoyed life. He & his family would sometimes spend the coldest winter months in Jamaica. He lived fearlessly. In his typical spontaneous way, he decided to become a sea captain, and sailed, solo from North Carolina to Jamaica and spent 18 months sailing the Caribbean. His dream had become a reality. His love of life was contagious, and he will be deeply missed by his family, including: daughters Angela Miller, (Ken), of Brownsville, MN; Jasmine Rayman-Kinney, of Chicago Il, and a son, Natan Rayman of Minneapolis; his mother, Annette W. Kinney of N. Wilkesboro, NC; his sister, Mary Lou Gaylor (Greg) of Troutman, NC; brother Scott Kinney (Sheila), of Huntersville, NC, and brother Tim Kinney (Rita) of Deep Gap, NC, and a special friend, Becky. There are three grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Miller Kinney. A memorial gathering is planned for the Spring.
