Nelson, Shirley Jean (Caverly) Born in Mpls, MN, March 5, 1938; died on Nov. 15, 2014, in Edina, MN, at the age of 76, due to an aggressive cancer. She was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Gladys Caverly. She is survived by sister Patricia A. Harvey, her twin-sister Sharon J. Barnard (Adrian) and brother Charles L. Caverly (Sara), seven nieces and two nephews. Thanks to all of her fellow Twin Cities Metro So. U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla members for their special support and attention during Shirley's fifty-one day hospice stay. A memorial service will be held at Lake Harriet United Methodist Church, 4901 Chowen Ave. S., Mpls MN, on Dec. 4, 2014, at 11 am. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's choice.
