Smith, Jeffrey A. Passed away at home in Penn Yan, New York on October 3. He was 65 years, the victim of a heart attack. He was born to Donald R. Smith, son of Arthur and Agnes Smith, Town of Torry, NY and Barbara Perfect of Wyomissing, PA. He proudly served with the 101st Airborne Division in country during the Vietnam conflict. Jeff married Judith Bostrom, a nurse, in October of 1978 at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Richfield. They raised 2 sons, James Burton and Donald Robert. The family lived in Richfield where the boys played on the ice-hockey team. Their parents never missed a game. Upon retiring from Ironworkers of St. Paul, Local 512, Jeff & his wife Judy moved to the Finger Lakes of NY in 2005 to continue operating the family business, Serenity Vineyards, begun by his father in 1973. A younger brother, Donald Douglas died in 2003 and in August of 2012 sadly Judy expired after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Jeff is survived by his 2 sons; mother; and brothers, Stephen and Charles of Mpls. and William living in Penn Yan; and by Judy's brother, John Bostrom and family of Richfield. A remembrance service with Military Honors to both Jeff and his father will be held in a Memorial Garden being prepared at the vineyard in the Spring.
