Mulcahy, Thomas Ryan Age 87, of Arden Hills, passed away November 16, 2014 Preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. and Corinne Ryan Mulcahy; his sister, Margaret Shaw (1986) and brother, Francis Ryan Mulcahy (1991); and nephew, Kevin Mulcahy (2014). Tom attended Basilica School and The Blake School. He served in the Navy in WWII. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1949 and a Law Degree from the University in 1952. Following graduation from Law School, he was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a JAG Officer. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta and Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Tom began his legal career in 1952 with the Pillsbury Company Law Department and was named Assistant Secretary and Director of Public Affairs in 1964. In 1969, he was appointed General Secretary and Director of Development at Macalester College and served there for 4 years. He joined the Graco Inc. Law Department in 1973 and served as Assistant Secretary, Secretary and General Counsel for the company. He retired in 1991. He was elected to the City Council of Arden Hills in 1982, serving a 2-year term and was active on the city's finance, planning and parks committees for over 20 years. An ardent historian and geneologist, Tom very much enjoyed pursuing his interest in family history. He is survived by his friend, Richard G. Schifsky of Arden Hills; nephews, Frank R. (Mary) Shaw of Shore-wood, Tully (Nancy) Mulcahy of Edina, Ryan (Sheila) Mulcahy of Madison, WI, Mark (Marcie Neurer) Mulcahy of Cumberland, WI; niece, Grace (Pat) Timmons of Edina, also survived by Ruth Mulcahy of St. Paul and 19 grand nephews and nieces. Mass of Christian Burial, 12 PM Monday, November 24th at the Basilica of St. Mary, Hennepin Ave @ 17th Street, Minneapolis. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to Mass at church.
