Denesen, Gladys M. (nee Westergard) Passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2014. She was born on May 1, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late William and Jane Westergard. She moved to Richfield in 1948 and graduated Richfield High School in 1957. After getting a degree in Business from the University of Minnesota in 1961, she worked for several local department stores. She married the late Irving Denesen on May 20, 1967. Sons Jeffrey and Kevin were welcomed into their Richfield home, where she resided until her passing. She worked for the Richfield Public Schools in the business office until her retirement. She enjoyed attending her sons' softball and broomball games, spending time with her grandchildren and visiting with friends. She is survived by her son Jeffrey (Jean), grandson Robert and son Kevin (Allison) and grandsons Thomas and Matthew. Also survived by brother, Donald (Joanne) Westergard and a sister Linda Griffith as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation Sunday, October 26th, from 4-7 pm at the Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., Richfield. Funeral service, Monday, October 27th at 11:00 am at Saint Luke's Lutheran Church, 1701W. Old Shakopee Rd., Bloomington, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials to the Salvation Army or to the Union Gospel Mission.
