O'Hara, Ruth W. Age 92, of Mpls., passed away Sept. 29, 2014. Preceded in death by parents Otto & Elsie Wagner, husband Michael, and sister Jeannette (Grant) Howard. Survived by daughter Sheila (Tim) Gothmann, son Sean (Lee Ann) O'Hara and daughter Ann (Robert) O'Hara-Frykman; grandchildren Charleen (Jesse) Wells, Katherine O'Hara, Anna (David) Melland-O'Hara, Ruth O'Hara, and Sean O'Hara II; great-grandchildren Taegan, Noah, Selah, and Ella; nieces and nephews Susan (Louis) Chang, Leslie (Ronald) Begley, Edwin (Jane) O'Hara, Roberta Ann (John) Schmitt and James O'Hara III; and great-nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Lyons, NY; accomplished violinist in high school orchestra; trained as RN at Rochester General Hospital, NY. Ruth served her country as a US Army RN stateside and overseas during WWII and the Korean Conflict. She rose to the rank of captain and later met her husband at Fort Sill, OK. Ruth and Michael moved to MN where they raised their family. Ruth continued her nursing career when circumstances allowed. She loved classical music, reading, watching birds, being up-north, and keeping her home well-kept. Our mother was compassionate, selfless, generous, and devoted to serving others. She enriched our lives and it was an honor to care for her. The family is very grateful to all of the wonderful caregivers who touched Ruth's life. Service Monday, Oct. 6 at Washburn-McReavy, 5000 W. 50th and Hwy 100, Edina; visitation at 9 am; memorial service at 10 am with luncheon following. Private interment at Fort Snelling.
