Clarence Norman Alsaker

Alsaker, Clarence Norman son of Ingvald Jacob Alsaker and Marie Flaskerud Alsaker, was born on September 26, 1928 in Hamberg, North Dakota. He grew up on a farm in Oberon, North Dakota and later moved to Glenwood, Minnesota. He retired from Glendenning Motorways in Roseville, Minnesota at the age of 55. He was united in marriage on May 3, 1947 to Shirley Jeanette Brown of Glenwood, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with 9 children. He is survived by his children, LaVonne Pederson, Charlene (Regan) Feigum-Swedeen, Diane Hinzey, Sandra (Robert) Hughs, Gordon Alsaker, Wanda Vickstrom, Barbara Kindseth, Gregory (Cindy) Alsaker, and Cindy (Mark) Soderquist; 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grand-children and two great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, 8 brothers and 4 sisters. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Norwegian horseshoes, casino trips, a love of guitar, fiddle and accordion music, as well as spending time with family and friends. He had the ability to create or fix almost anything and he truly lived his belief that "It is Better to Give Than to Receive". Visitation and funeral services to be held at Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church in Terrace, Minnesota at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM respectively, on Saturday, October 4, 2014.
