Maunu, Lillian Agnes (Huhta) age 76, of Plymouth, MN went home to the Lord on September 28, 2014. Born April 17th, 1938 in Jacobsville, Michigan she grew up on a small family farm along the beautiful shores of Lake Super-ior. Lillian and Vernon married in 1963 and she was happy raising 6 children at their home in Plymouth. Prior to marriage, she worked as secretary for Control Data, when the children were older she was secretary for Plymouth Apostolic Lutheran Church where the family attended, and for twenty-some years she enjoyed work at Augsburg College Campus Ministry, reluctantly retiring in 2012. Lil survived two cancers and other medical challenges, but succumbed to complications related to heart disease. She was a faithful nurse and advocate to her husband into his final difficult days, who took flight three months prior to her going. She will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched. In some of her last painful hours, she stated how good God has been. She was thankful for close friendships and family including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, giving her much joy and happiness. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Maunu; parents Aili (Narhi) and Edward Huhta; brother-in-law, Glenn Tapio. Survived by children, Gail (Abe) Ouda, Valerie (Jim) Usselman, Rachel (Curtis) Travis, Matthew (Katy) Maunu, Cynthia (Erik) Aho, Louise (Kyle) Hakola; sister, Linda Tapio; 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extend-ed family. Funeral service Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, 11:00 AM at Plymouth Apostolic Lutheran Church, 11015 Old County Road 15, Plymouth, with visitation one hour prior to service and lunch following the service. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 PM at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave North, with a prayer service and memory sharing at 6:30 PM. Interment Fort Snelling Cemetery. Gearty-Delmore 763-553-1411
