Locke, Frank "Wes" Loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, September 26. Born December 4, 1919 in Minneapolis, MN he grew up on the family farm in Brooklyn Center and the farm his father managed in Wayzata. He raised his family in Minneapolis and built a home in Minnetonka for retirement. The past 2 years he has lived at Beacon Hill Sr. apts in Minnetonka. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dagmer, brothers, Wilber, Bert, step-brother, Bob, sister, Rosa and step sister, Elizabeth. He is survived by children, Kevin (Anne), Mike (Mary), Steve (Jayna), Karen (Don); grandchildren, Becky (Jeff), Elliott, Dan (Jessica), Emily (Sunil), Adrienne (Eric), Genevieve, Eliza, Everett; and, 9 great-grandchildren. Wes graduated from Wayzata HS where he played football, basket-ball and track. He was a Captain in the Army Air Force during WWII stationed in California to establish defensive airbases throughout the state. He graduated from the University of MN on the GI Bill with a degree in Industrial Design. For over 30 years he worked for Waldorf Paper Products and its successors in St. Paul as a packaging designer finding ways to box everything from Tonka Toys to snowmobiles. Wes loved guitar music and played guitar throughout his life. He also was an avid tennis player and played senior tennis into his 90's. Wes spent endless hours on home improvement and furniture projects. He was never happier than when working in his shop. In retirement he hand crafted guitars for family and consignment.
