Elmer Weisser

Weisser, Elmer "Bud" age 85, died peacefully in Brookings, South Dako-ta. on August 29. Preceded in death by parents, Fritz (Fred) Weisser and Marion (Mary) (Schneider) Weisser, 13 brothers and sisters and first wife Mariatta Love. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dorothy Vostad Weisser; his daughters, Antoinette Stadler and Mary (Greg) Holtzman; grandchildren, Mitchell and Thomas Holtzman, Autumn Stadler, Sirie (Chris) Basina and (3) great-grandchildren; step-children, Rick (Dee) Vostad, Delores (Dale) Josephsen, Doreen (Steven) Sims, Craig (Rhonda) Vostad, Kevin (Ann) Vostad; a special (nephew, brother) Dale Klima of Sartell MN, 12 step-grandchildren and 28 step-great-grandchildren. Bud was born September 18th, 1928 in Melrose MN. He served in the Army with the occupational forces in Japan and later graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College. He lived for many years in Bloomington MN were he worked for the National Association of Manufacturers. Bud moved to Brookings, SD in 1977 and retired from Daktronics. Bud served on the board for the "Swiftel Center" development in Brookings, board of "Governor's Office of Economic Development for the state of South Dakota. He has been an active leader for many years supporting the Republican Party. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 3 at St. Thomas More in Brookings, SD. Visitation on Tuesday, September 2 from 5-7 pm at the Eidness Funeral Home.
