Daniel Lewis Bishop

Bishop, Daniel Lewis age 73, of Mpls. Passed away August 19, 2014. Preceded by wife, Sharon Bishop and infant sister, Elizabeth Bishop. Survived by wife, Peg Feil; sons, Lewis (Tricia) and Wayne (Catherine); grandchildren, Rachel, Grace, Courtney and Ava; sisters, Lois Johnson and Diana Conrad; brother-in-law, Scott Salzman; as well as his extended family, friends, church members and the greater community. Dan was an Eagle Scout and a Scoutmaster. He was an active volunteer coaching youth sports, working with Habitat for Humanity and a longtime active member and volunteer at First Universalist Church. Dan had a love of flying and carpentry. He was a flight instructor, air traffic controller, as well as a master carpenter. Dan had a passion for the Boundary Waters, sailing, camping, Monday night hockey and travel. Throughout his life, Dan very generously donated 13 gallons of his blood to the Memorial Blood Center. In keeping with this spirit of generosity, he lives on through his donation of tissue and organs to LifeSource. Dan was very close to his family and friends. He was a pillar of his community and will be greatly missed. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to First Universalist Church or Habitat for Humanity.
