Thimmesch, Hyacinth Charles Age 93, of Minneapolis, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Hy is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine. He is survived by special friend, Evelyn Fischer; children, Jean Thimmesch (Jerry Slepica), Craig Thimmesch (Althea), Karen Thimmesch (David Gill); grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Thimmesch-Slepica, Brian and Nathan Thimmesch, Zane and Audra Thimmesch-Gill; and great-granddaughter, Paige Thimmesch. Hy was raised by his grandparents in Wells, MN and was first introduced to the bakery business during his high school years. He was a World War II veteran having served as a pilot in the Army Air Force and was a POW in Germany. Following the war he worked for a few years in a commercial bakery before opening his own, Deluxe Bakery in North Mpls. Later he moved his business to St. Anthony Village Shopping Center where many people enjoyed his delicious cinnamon rolls and beautiful decorated cakes.
