Reeder (Higgins) on June 8, 1930. His older sister, Mary, died in infancy. Bob attended country school and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1949. Bob married Theresa Kalina of Northfield in 1956 and together they raised a family of six children on the Reeder farm who survive him, Mary Kay (John) Keegan; Maureen (Glenn Kelley) Reeder; John (Carol Leonnig) Reeder; Jim (Mindy) Reeder; Melissa (John Hahn) Reeder; Joseph (Sandra Voelker) Reeder as well as 11 grandchildren. Bob grew up on the Reeder family farm south of Montgomery, MN which homesteaded by his grandfather in 1873. His father died when he was just four and he was raised by his mother and grandfather, Mark Higgins. Bob loved farming; it was his life's work. He worked in the fields and was a dairy farmer. He was most proud to have earned a state-wide conservation award in 1968 for his farming practices. He was very active in St. Canice Catholic Church and served on various church boards. He was the Montgomery Township Treasurer for several decades and was president of St. Michael's cemetery association for more than 40 years. Bob was a dedicated and attentive caregiver to Theresa who was disabled by multiple sclerosis for the last two decades of her life before she passed away in 2005. Bob found love again when he married Joyce Vasko in 2007 and they made their home in Montgomery. Joyce had been widowed and also had six grown children who survive him. Bob will be remembered for keeping up on his friendships. He was a dedicated, engaged and loving father, husband and grandfather. He never said good-bye to his children without saying, "I love you." He worked hard his whole life. He loved to talk to people and would talk to anyone; he loved to tell stories, hear stories and share a joke. He woke up happy and cheerful every morning. He was generally optimistic and humble, and carried a strong sense of faith and duty that guided him through life.
