Jordan, Betty Anne (nee Laidlaw) Age 94 passed away peacefully Friday September 22, 2017. Betty was born on August 12th, 1923 to Charles and Elizabeth Laidlaw. She was raised in St. Paul, graduated from Derham Hall, and married Lieutenant James C. Jordan in 1944. Betty worked in Washington DC during WWII, deciphering enemy codes, tracking troop movements and Jim in his P-51 Mustang. After the war, Betty and Jim settled in Minneapolis, until they moved to Cumberland Wisconsin in 1973. When Jim retired they bought a winter home in Naples Florida, creating an even larger circle of friends. As noted in her high school yearbook, Betty was 'Derham Hall's posture queen, a queen in her own right, with expressive brown eyes, naturally curly hair and a genial smile'. Betty touched so many lives in so many ways and will be greatly missed. Betty is preceded in death by husband Jim, daughter Beth Schoeff, her brother Charles, sister Joanne, and son in law Tim Smalley. Survived by her children, Mary Anne Smalley, Hilary, James Jr (Collette), Kitty (Eric) Iverson, Michael (Holly), Terry (John Howitz) and Pauli (Neil) Kennelly; 19 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial TOMORROW 10 am Wednesday, September 27, at HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 515 S. Albert St., St. Paul, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Private Interment Ft.
