Mulhausen, Marcia Jean (Dustin) Age 89, Oak Park Heights, MN (formerly Minneapolis), died Thursday September 14, 2017 after a long illness. Marcia was born on December 5, 1927 in Barre, VT, then raised in Randolph, VT. She was preceded in death by husband Robert; parents Clifford and Maud Dustin; and brothers Donald and Robert Dustin. Marcia graduated from Randolph Union High School, then started her Great Adventure! She attended the Boston School of Occupational Therapy and Tufts University, certifying as an OTR in '50. In her professional life, Marcia provided OT services to children with disabilities. Her career brought her to the North Carolina Cerebral Palsy Hospital in Durham, NC; the University of Illinois School of OT in Chicago, IL; and Minneapolis Dowling School, from which she retired in '93. On Dec. 26, '54, Marcia married Robert O. Mulhausen in Randolph, VT, after meeting in Chicago, IL. They moved to St. Paul in '55 and started their family. She ultimately raised four children in South Mpls., near Lake Nokomis, where her adventures were shared with children and grandchildren. She was beloved by her family, who will forever remember her as the Best Mom Ever. Marcia loved! Marcia loved swimming, skiing, hiking, and the small adventures of the great outdoors. She loved snowy white winters and colorful hot summers. She loved music: piano, voice, cello, and the cacophony of a family orchestra! All played a part in the soundtrack of her life. No life experience was too small to embrace. She loved games board games, card games, word games, and goofball tricks. No life experience was too daunting. Her travels took her across our grand continent and around the world! She loved people. She loved her neighborhood, her church, her friends, her patients, and the people who cared for her in her late life disability. If you asked her, she'd say that most of all she loved her family: parents, sisters, brothers, husband, children, in-laws, grandchildren, great grandchild, and a whole slew of cousins. She most enjoyed sharing her personal joy and sense of adventure with those she loved most of all. Marcia is survived by her sisters, Mary and Carol; children, John (Cheryl) Mulhausen, Jean (Mark) Hoffman; Paul (Teresa) Mulhausen, and Karen Mulhausen; grandchildren, Ryan Mulhausen, Andrea (Casey) Johnson, Brian (Ariana) Hoffman, Lindsey Mulhausen, Kevin Hoffman, and Hannah Mulhausen; great-grandchild, Sadie Johnson.
