Lund, James B. Age 97, of Mpls., passed away June 27. The first of 3 brothers, Jim was born July 3, 1916 in Stillwater, MN to Bert O. Lund and Mary Vordahl Lund. An Eagle Scout, Jim was graduated from Stillwater High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree and Law Degree from the Univ. of Minnesota where he was a member and president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. While at the University he played with National Championship Golden Gophers Football team from 1934 to 1936. He spent 4 years overseas in WWII as Major in the Military Railway Service serving in Tunisia, Alger-ia, Italy and France. Jim practiced law for more than 50 years in Mpls., with emphasis on veteran's matters. For many years he was the lawyer and lobbyist for the VFW. Beloved by all for his warmth and kindness. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ingrid; sons, Robert (Pam) of Southampton, NY, Peter of St. Paul, Sam (Dr. Kim) of Bonita, CA, James S. of Bloomington, MN and Andrew "SI" (Maria) of Westport, CT; daughters, Laura Hansen (Dr. Carl) of St Louis Park, Lucy Lund of Mpls,. and Elizabeth Finley (Jerry) of Mpls. He leaves 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth Moody of San Diego, CA, Alexander Lund (Lauren) of Mpls., Lindsay Moody of Mpls., Courtney, Danika, Sydney and Gavin Lund of Bonita, CA, Evan and Lauren Finley of Mpls., and Karin, Alexandra and Fredrik Lund of Westport, CT.; as well as nieces and a nephew and their families. Preceded in death by first wife, Laura May Thompson Lund, and brothers, Robert (KIA Tunisia 1943) and Bert, Jr. (St. Paul). Special thanks to so many of the caregivers in his last year of life, especially those in his last days at Augustana Care Center, Mpls. Private interment. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 3, 12:00 at Lakewood Chapel, 36th Street S. and Hennepin Avenue. Memorials preferred to the donor's choice or Boy Scouts of America.
