Halliwill, Dean age 80, died peacefully on August 1, 2017 in Temecula, CA surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous fight with lung cancer. As his life got smaller, his gratitude for his loved ones grew larger, he showed up each day with love to give. Dean was born on November 12, 1936. He grew up in in Wadena MInnesota and spent his childhood there with his 9 brothers and sisters. Dean enlisted in the army and was stationed in Alaska. There, he met and married the love of his life, Lynda Richter. They were married 52 years. After his service, he moved back to Minnesota to raise his family. Dean was at his best when he was outside creating beautiful landscapes. He and Lynda shared a passion for gardening, which he continued after moving to California in 2013. He enriched the lives he touched with compassion, love and faith, which will live on in all who knew him. He was an inspiration and a true testament to a beautiful life. Dean was predeceased by his parents Marion and Oral Halliwill, his wife Lynda and their daughter Deanna. He is survived by his siblings, Joanne Waltz, Dwight Halliwill and Lynn Schonebaum, also his daughters, Kelly Halliwill-Ross, Pam Rubin and Nicole Halliwill. His loving grandchildren, Sarah, Hannah, Tucker, Colby, Benjamin, Mia and Perry will all miss him greatly. A celebration of life will take place in September.
