Young, Charles Nicholas age 93, of Minneapolis. Passed away on August 11, 2017, at home surrounded by family. Preceded in death parents, Matilda and Nicholas Young; 1st Wife of 29 years, Virginia Lee Young; grandson, Stephen Rodby; and granddaughter, Kaitlin O'Halloran; brothers, Jerry, Jim, and Bill Young; and sisters, Barb Guettler and Phyllis Merthan. Survived by wife of 38 years, Virginia Rodby Young, Children, David Young, Michelle van Gorkom; stepchildren, Craig, Kris, Scott, Kent, Joey, Lisa, Leslie, and Amy; and 35 grandchildren. Before his retirement, he was owner and manager of Gopher Pattern Works. He served in WWII as a Combat Engineer in the 117th Combat Engineer Battalion. In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Glenn Benevolence Society.
