Burley, George Robert "Bob" age 92, of Edina, MN passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 10th. Devoted husband, father, brother, grand-father, and great-grand-father. Bob loved his family dearly and had a special way of making everyone laugh. His spirit was contagious and his hard-work ethic will be remembered forever. He was a proud WWII veteran and purple heart recipient. Bob was born in Buffalo, NY, on Sept. 6, 1924 and married Gwendolyn Smith on Oct. 16, 1948 in Buffalo, and later moved to Edina, Minn., in 1963 where they raised seven children. Bob is survived by his children, Mike (Stephanie), Bridget (Jim Stangl), Brian (Suzette), Marty, Brad (Patty), Matt (Cathy), and Rob. Also by grandchildren, Bryan (Tanya), Brittany (Josh), Christina (Ryan), Katy (Andy), Natalie, Meghan, Ali, Shannon, Patrick, Maddie, Will, Anne (Will), Tommy, Paul, John and 8 great-grandchildren who were the light of his life. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67-years, Gwendolyn (Smith) Burley; parents, William and Lillian (Smering) Burley, brother, Bill, and sister, Dorothy.
