Denise (Kloyda) Goodwin

Goodwin, Denise (Kloyda) Age 59, resident of Buckholts, TX, formerly of Bloomington, MN passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after enduring a long struggle with Frontotemporal Dementia. She was in the presence of her devoted husband and tireless caregiver Michael Goodwin. She has joined her father (D.G. Kloyda), grandparents, aunts and uncles. She will be remembered lovingly by Michael, her children Nickole Duncan and Lawrence Hatchett (Marissa), her step children Melanie Johnson and Michael Goodwin Jr, grandchildren, Aden, Evan and Ian, her mother Terrill Kloyda, siblings Steven (Jane) Kloyda, Deanna (Greg) Miller, twin sister Debra (Thomas) Stealey, David (Debra) Kloyda, Thomas Kloyda, nieces/nephews and many friends. Denise graduated from Bloomington Lincoln High School and served for nine years in the United States Army, stationed in Italy, Germany and finally at Fort Hood, Killeen, TX. She then was employed as a civilian with the US Army at Fort Hood, until she retired in 2009. Her passing left short her life long dream of enjoying retirement on the Goodwin Ranch. Denise was a devoted wife, mother/grandmother, daughter and sister. She had a love for gardening, fishing, reading, and cooking. Her love of life, compassion for others, strength and determination will be remembered by all who knew her. She always sought to make each moment count. The family would like to thank Southern Hospice as well as her personal care attendants for their devoted and loving care. Denise was well loved and will be greatly missed. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. A memorial service and celebration of Denise's life was held August 12, 2017 at the Goodwin Ranch. Interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery on August 16, 2017.
