VanBeusekom, Philip C. "Phil" age 84 of St. Paul, passed away on July 23, 2017. Phil was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. He attended St. Thomas Academy high school and graduated from Hamline University with a degree in Chemistry. Phil worked for 38 years at 3M and was a Senior Research Specialist in the Graphic Arts Division. Phil received various technical awards and two patents while working at 3M. He was known for his knowledge and expertise in his field, mentored many co-workers and was well respected. Phil enjoyed doing various remodeling projects, he and his wife loved to travel and enjoyed being at home with family and friends. People who knew Phil considered him a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by family and his many friends. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Annetta; sister, Dolores. Phil will be deeply missed by his wife, Joan; children, Steven (Nancy), Amy (Gary) Ziolkowski, and David; grandchildren, Carrie (John) Felipe, Andy (Leslie) VanBeusekom, Jennifer (Tom) Joseph, Matthew Ziolkowski, Brian Ziolkowski; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Jackson, Olivia, Logan, Silas; sister-in-law, Jean Segerstrom. A memorial service will be on Monday, July 31 at 12:30 PM at Lakewood Cemetery chapel with a private burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Association of Minnesota or donor's favorite charity.
