Hanson, Leroy D. age 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday morning, June 21st at his home in Coon Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. Leroy was born in Glencoe, MN and was raised in North Mpls., MN. He joined the Army as a young man and served for 2 years in the Korean War. He met his loving wife, Barb Sundberg in 1966 and they were married in February of 1967. Leroy and Barb raised their two boys, Daniel and Douglas in Ramsey, MN. Leroy worked for over 35 years as a machine operator, retiring in 1992. He was very involved in his church volunteering on the hospitality team and regularly attending bible studies. Leroy spent his life dedicated to God, family, and country. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; sons, Daniel (Maureen) and Douglas (Angie); grandchildren, Christen, Jeremy, Aria, Jerrick, Danika; great grandchildren, Zach and Lizzy; siblings, Lyle Richter, Lowrelle Richter (Carol), Rosalyn Olivera; many relatives and good friends.
