Worringer, William Glenn age 91, of Tower, Minn., passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, in Duluth, Minn. He was born on Oct. 22, 1925, in Madison, Wisc., the son of William and Hazel (Glenn) Worringer. William attended East High School and joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942, where he was trained as a fighter pilot in the Class of 44D. He married Elaine Rosalie Viney on Feb. 17, 1949. William continued to serve in the Air National Guard until 1966. He became a commercial airline pilot with Wisconsin Central Airlines, North Central Airlines, and Republic Airlines, from which he retired in 1984. William was a member of the Confederate Air Force, Experimental Aircraft Association, and the American Legion. He had a passion for radio-control model aero planes, wood boats, motor-cycles and snowmobiles. William is survived by his wife, Elaine Rosalie; children, Randy (fiancee Katy), Rick (Mary), Robert (Claudia), and Renee (Steve Rowell); grandchildren, Eric (Emma) Worringer and Katherina Worringer; step-grandchildren, Robin Halverson, Christopher Pena, and Joel Pena; and step-great-grandchildren, Natalie Halverson, Nolan Halverson, Abigail Halverson, Sophia Pena, Mila Pena, and Aiden Pena. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter-in-law, Sharon Sellie Worringer. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, Wis., at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Madison, Wis. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 Noon until the time of the service on Thursday. Condolences: gundersonfh.com
