Bibus, Kathleen Marie (Hand) Age 74, died of Parkinson's disease on May 20, 2017, her 39th wedding anniversary. Over the past three years, Kathy was in long-term hospice care at Walker Methodist Care Suites in Edina (to whom donations are suggested). Her husband, Anthony A. Bibus III "Tony" was with her. Kathy is also survived by loving family members; friends; and colleagues; including son, Scott (Kathleen Borrell); sister Nancy Hults; step-daughter Elizabeth M. Bibus (Anne Ogborn); nephews Matthew and Mark Hults; niece Kari Ackert (Justin); grand-nephew and grand-nieces; several cousins; and Tony's brothers and sister and their spouses and children; and best friend Corky Fulton and family in San Jose, CA. Kathy's parents were Harriet (Holly) M. Hand, who grew up on the farm of her parents C.C. and Selma Johnson in Winthrop, and Louis LaRue Hand, who grew up in Minneapolis. Since graduating from East High School and National Business College in Sioux City, Iowa, Kathy worked as a purchasing clerk and bookkeeper for Control Data from 1962 to 1989 (employee #189) and as a clerical worker for the state of Minnesota's jobs and training programs at Hennepin Technical College and the Bloomington Workforce Center from 1989 to 2005, when she retired on disability. She loved reading books, particularly related, to the middle ages and renaissance, going to early music and folk concerts (e.g., Rose Ensemble and Gordon Bok), camping, catalogue shopping, and living with cats. She led a genuine, quiet, peaceful, dignified life and was known for her spritz cookies, interest in horses, expertise in packing and organizing, steadfast loyalty, and witty insights. Because of her steady love for her sister, nephews, niece, step-daughter, husband, and family, we knew we could count on Kathy. We are grateful to each of Kathy's caregivers over the years, especially Walker Methodist and Allina Hospice staff.
