Genevieve Marie Rosenving

Rosenving, Genevieve Marie Long time Brooklyn Park, MN resident, Genevieve passed away peacefully April 18, 2017 at the age of 92. Born August 13, 1924, Genevieve Marie Svercl came into the lives of her parents Frank and Agnes Svercl of Sandstone, MN. She was the oldest of four children. She is survived by her husband Elmer Rosenving and her sister Theresa Molby of Brainerd, MN. She was preceded in death by her first husband Albert and her two brothers Eugene (Bud) Svercl of Sandstone and Frank Svercl of Duluth. Genevieve gave birth to 5 children: George, Larry, Karen, David and Ken. The oldest of her children, George, died in 2004. Genevieve lived the first part of her life with husband Albert around the year 1944 in the town of Esko, MN. When he died in January 1965 at the young age of 42 Genevieve went on to raise her children on her own. She married Elmer Rosenving on April 14, 1973. Elmer is a kind man who would become a wonderful father to her now grown children. They remained married for over 44 years until her death. Genevieve loved to garden both vegetables and flowers. She had a big vegetable garden in Esko and an even larger vegetable and flower garden in Brooklyn Park. Her flower garden of many varieties was the envy of all her neighbors. She loved to travel, fish, read, work on puzzles, color, draw and collect owl knickknacks. Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 o'clock a.m. at Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Ave. NE, Minneapolis, MN.
