Schnable, Edwin M. Age 77, of Bloomington, peacefully passed away April 15, 2017. A wonderful and generous husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he is preceded in death by his wife, Doris, parents, brother and granddaughter. Survived by his son Bill (Cathy) Schnable, his daughter Ingrid (Lee) Parsons, his grandsons Zachary and Lucas, and his loving companion Sandra Sklenar. Ed was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and joined the US Navy out of high school, where he proudly served for 4 years. After earning his Bachelor's degree from Kutztown University, and his Master's degree in Physics from Lehigh University, Ed pursued a lifetime career in semiconductor manufacturing management. He moved his family to Minnesota in 1987 and retired from Polarfab in 2008. Ed was an active member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also an enthusiastic volunteer math tutor at Normandale Community College, and he loved to fish and travel as much as possible. Ed will join Doris at Fort Snelling Cemetery, with a memorial service taking place Saturday, May 13, 11 AM (visitation starting at 10 AM), at St. Mark's UCC, 8630 Xerxes Ave S, Bloomington.
