Ditch, Martha Clara Bertha (Harmel) Age 98, formerly of Crystal, MN, passed away April 10, 2017. Martha was loved and will be deeply missed by her family. Martha was born October 20, 1918 in Glencoe, MN to Gustav and Emma (Rothmann) Harmel as the youngest in a German-speaking family. Her parents emigrated from Posen, Germany in 1899; Gustav was from Jankendorf and Emma from Kletzko. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Warren Ditch, her son, Warren (Skip) Ditch Jr., her parents, her siblings, Martin, Frieda, Else, Hedwig, Anna, Elisa, Margaret, Paul, Erich, Marie and Gertrude. Martha was a long time member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church and later attended Grace Church, Edina. She enjoyed life, especially: reading, entertaining, picnics, traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Ditch and Deborah (Kent) Cutkomp, grandson Andrew Cutkomp, and many nieces and nephews. A private family service was held at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Memorials may be sent to Alzheimer's Association of MN/ND or your favorite charity in Martha's name. Ruhe in Frieden, Martha.
