Archer, John Ronald age 73, of Minnetonka passed peacefully on March 9, 2017 He was born in Denver, CO and graduated from Richfield High School. He proudly served with the 7th Army, 6th Missile Battalion, 517th Artillery US Forces. John married Cheryl Jones in 1970 and they had three children. John had a successful career and retired early from the insurance industry to care for Cheryl as she fought and lost her battle with cancer. John found love again with Dorothy Knutson and gained two stepchildren. He leaves his adoring wife Dorothy Knutson-Archer; three children, Tracy (Dean) Eberhardt, Stephanie (Ryan) Pettis and Ronald (Ammy) Archer; two stepchildren Karl (Jennifer) Knutson and Ingrid (Aaron Youngdahl) Knutson. The center of John's world, his grandchildren, Dan and John Eberhardt; Lilly and Will Pettis; Harrison and Evelyn Archer; Chloe, Henrik and Levi Knutson; and Alma Youngdahl. He also leaves behind his brother, Kelley (Linda) Archer; many dear family members and friends and his faithful canine companion, Lexi. Preceded in death by his wife Cheryl Archer; father John Ronald Abramson; mother Frances Belle Archer; Evald (Marylou) Abramson. A gathering to celebrate John's life will take place Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapel 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. Visitation is at 1 p.m. and service at 3:30p.m.
