Atkinson, Robert Verle age 89 of White Bear Lake, MN passed away February 20, 2017. Bob, also known to some as Herk, went to God while being soaked in love and tears by many family members. Preceded in death by wife of 57 years Arlene: parents Verle, and Georgetta: sister Janice Gains: sons Glen and Mark: and first wife Virginia. Survived by siblings Charles Atkinson, Bette Ames, and Shirley Converse: children Mike (Ingrid Friel), Andy (Shelly), and Kim (Dave) Neeser. Bob was a veteran and served in both the United States Navy and Air Force. Bob was proud to be one of the founders of the White Bear Lake Hockey and Skating Association, and was a huge fan of WBL High School Hockey. Bob was an avid golfer and outdoorsman. Many summer weekends were spent with his close friends at Sand Lake. Bob loved life, his family, his friends, and his country. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Celebration of life planned for March 3rd at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church of White Bear Lake, located at 4821 Bloom Ave, White Bear Lake, MN.
