Cumbee, Loretta Johanna (Glauvitz) Loretta was born on a snowy day on January 23, 1926 and passed through heavens gates on February 27, 2017 at home surrounded by the love of her family. Loretta was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. One of her greatest joys in life was cooking holiday meals for her family. Thank you mom. She also enjoyed playing the piano, singing and writing poems to highlight the milestones of her families' lives. Loretta was preceded in death by husband, James; daughter, Patricia Hicks; son-in-law, Irvin Abbottt; grandson, Joseph Abbott; sisters, Bernina Mohs and Anita Glauvitz; brothers, Lawrence Glauvitz, Norbert Glauvitz, and Merle Glauvitz. She is survived by five children: James Cumbee, David (Gale) Cumbee, Sharon Abbott, Cynthia (Benny) Rodriguez, and Daniel Cumbee; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Earl) Hoppenrath; brothers, Orrie Glauvitz, and Gary (Jan) Glauvitz; along with many loving nieces and nephews and one special friend, Earlane Johnson.
