Larson, Shirley C. age 91, passed away on February 24, 2017. Shirley was born in Raymond, MN on March 24, 1925, the only child of the late Mae (Hintz) and Milton Johnson. Shirley served in the W.A.V.E.S. during WWII and graduated from the University of MN in 1947. She married Robert "Bob" Larson and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage. Shirley and Bob moved frequently for his job and Shirley put her talents as a homemaker and hostess to good use. She had an eye for design and decorating. She made friends easily and joined communities through volunteering, golf, tennis and bridge. She loved music and attending the symphony. She also loved animals and took in many strays. Shirley is survived by daughters, Pam (the late Michael) Scherling and Tracy Larson; sons, Scott (Cornelia) Larson and David Larson. Shirley loved being a mother and grandmother. She and Bob spent many hours attending their grandchildren, Dan (Erin) Larson, Emily (Chris) Gaut and Stephanie Larson's sport and school events. Shirley also has six beloved great-grandchildren. Private family memorial service and interment at Fort Snelling. Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
