Kizilos, Betty Mae (Ahola) Age 80 died Feb. 18, 2017. Born Jan. 6, 1937 and raised in Ely, Minnesota. Betty graduated from MIT IN 1958, with a B.S. degree in physics, one of a handful of pioneering women students at an almost exclusively male institution. She was also one of the first women to work in computer systems for industrial companies, in computer programming and systems analysis for Honeywell, Inc. In later years, Betty published 6 books, including 3 books of poetry that expressed her profound love for Jesus Christ, humanity, and the created world. She was accepting of everyone, worshiped and learned at both St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church as well as Colonial Church of Edina. Betty particularly loved being Nana to her 7 grandchildren, Justin, Jamie, Josh, Olivia, Andy, Jason, and Alex. In addition to them, she is survived by husband Apostolos (Tolly), sons Peter (Nancy), Paul (Rina) and Mark (Melissa); siblings Connie Loisel, Luanna Riikola, and Amyl Ahola.
