Paulson, Lee Conrad Age 91 of Col. Hgts. Most recently of Wayzata, MN. Passed away on January 20th. Preceded in death by parents, Peter and Charlotte (nee Smogard). He is survived and deeply missed by his devoted wife of 67 years, Joanne; daughters, LeAnne (Bill) Ketelsen; Jolene Brown; Jonell (Terry) Johnson; grandchildren, Leisa Sodhi, Conrad (Kirsten) Ketelsen; Lauren and Connor Johnson; great-grandchild-ren Sophia, Neel and Anika Sodhi; Brendan and Allie Ketelsen; sister, Janice (Floyd) Henry; brother, Glenn (Barbara) Paulson; nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Lee was born in Watertown, South Dakota June 19, 1925. The family moved to Minneapolis where Lee attended West High School and went on to complete US Navy flight training in 1945. After passing a nationwide qualifying exam, he was recommended by his commanding officer for the V-12 Navy College Training Program. He returned to MN and taught ground school at Crystal airport while completing his degree at the University of MN in Mechanical and Aeronautical engineering. During this time, it was love a first sight when he met Joanne. Graduating with his MS in Aeronautical Engineering in 1949, he married Joanne and moved to Las Cruces, NM where he taught mechanical engineering at New Mexico State College. Starting a family, they returned to MN where he worked for Honeywell as an Aeronautical engineer for 37 yrs. Over his career he developed and implemented cutting edge test and flight guidance equipment for both military and civilian aircraft, including test equipment for the NASA space program. He was the recipient of top performer and professional achievement awards, served on many professional boards including the National Security Industrial Assc, AIAA, SAE, U of M, and President of the IT Alumni Society. After retirement, was most proud serving as General Chairman of AUTOTESTCON in 1988 and continued consulting and serving on many boards, including Methodist Hospital review board. Lee traveled extensively abroad for his job and enjoyed traveling and camping with his family. In later years he most loved spending time in Hawaii and sailing their boat the "Restoration" on Lake Pepin. Services at First Lutheran Church, Columbia Heights and burial at Ft Snelling.
