Olfelt, Dr. Paul Charles age 91 of Golden Valley (Formerly St. Louis Park). Paul, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, was born in Minneapolis to Esther and Peter Olfelt, the middle of three boys. He grew up in Bethany Covenant Church and was careful to educate his children in the ways of the Christian faith. He graduated from Minnehaha Academy and the University of Minnesota and completed both college and medical school at the age of 22. He married Helen Hanson in 1948 and was devoted to her for 68 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family was extremely important to him. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an MD on Shimea in the Aleutian Islands. Paul specialized in radiology and had a great love for that area of medicine. Paul was a life-long learner, always reading and keeping up with current events. He was an adventurer and wonderful example of doing things with creativity and excellence. He loved art and enjoyed physical sports. He was an avid skier until 89. He encouraged others with his wisdom, experience, humor and kind ways. We thank God for him! Survived by loving wife of 68 years, Helen; children, Jan (Art) Helin, Jill (Galen) Johnson, John (Barb) Olfelt, Jean (Steve) Nornes; grandchildren, Phil (Amanda) Helin, Tim (Claire) Helin, Johanna (Adam) Speas, Josh Helin, Elikia Johnson, Daniel (Allison) Olfelt, Paul (Sarah Jo) Olfelt, Leah & Sarah Olfelt, Drew, Rachel & Anna Nornes; also 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janet Olfelt. Memorial service Tues. 10:30 AM at Covenant Village Fellowship Center, 5800 St. Croix Ave. N., Golden Valley. Visitation Mon. 5-8 PM at the Miller Funeral Home, 2610 Hwy. 65 NE., Fridley.
