Rehnke, Mildred age 89, of Eden Prairie, MN, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2017. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene; and beautiful daughter, Jennifer Fick; sister, Emma; brothers, Melvin, Donald and Maynard. Survived by sister, Doris; brother, Vern; son-in-law, Doug (Suzy) Fick; and four very special grandchildren, John, Andrew, Madison and Rose; many loving relatives and friends. Millie was a remarkable woman. Friends and family describe her as strong, real, willing to say what she thought, joyful, fun, made you laugh, spunky, classy and a real spark. She also had an extreme caring side to her. She would ask questions about you, listen intently, and was always interested in what you had to say. Millie grew up in Spearfish, SD and married Gene in 1952. They eventually moved to South St. Paul and Eden Prairie where they enjoyed over 55 years of marriage before Gene died in 2008. Millie and Gene had one child Jennifer who died in 2004 at the young age of 43. Millie put her heart and soul into helping Doug raise his two young boys. John and Andy describe Grandma as the most caring person they have ever met. When Doug remarried, Millie embraced Suzy as if she was a daughter. Suzy became Millie's "go to person". Millie also modeled a rock solid faith in Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. She could recite her confirmation verse even in her final days. We miss you so much, dear Millie, you were an incredible person. Memorial service Tuesday, Jan. 31, 11:00 AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Dr., Eden Prairie, MN, with visitation one hour prior to service at church.
