McKee, Robert Hamilton April 30, 1932 December 5, 2016 Bob was born and lived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada until he moved with his wife, Joan, and their two children, Art & Leslee to the Twin Cities in 1967 to accept a position as a mailer with The Minneapolis Star and Tribune Newspapers. While working as a mailer, Bob discovered his true passion when he took on a 2nd full time job working as a union representative arbitrating for the workers. He was soon elected and served many terms as President of the local Teamsters Union. Bob was an avid volunteer, giving his time to various organizations such as the Teamsters Food Shelf, the United Way, where he served on the board for ten years, and for Meals on Wheels as a driver for five years. Bob also had a great interest in his heritage, traveling to Scotland several times to visit family and explore his ancestor's homeland. He became involved with the Clan Mackay Society of the Twin Cities volunteering during many Scottish Festivals over the years. Bob will be remembered for his love of sports and music, his sunny disposition, his generosity, his humility, and his commitment to better the lives of others. He was preceded in death by his parents; Andrew McKee, and Helen Hamilton, his two brothers, Arthur and Drew; and former wife, Joan. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Art and Leslee; granddaughters, Sydney, Kacie (Justin), Luna, and Kori; sisters, Patricia and Liz (Rod); stepchildren, Debi (Tim), Wendy (Willy), and Teri; nine step grandchildren (and soon-to-be ten great grandchildren). Memorial Service 12:00 noon Friday, December 16, 2016, at Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
