Walter Paul Riechmann

Riechmann, Walter Paul Of Plymouth, Minn., passed peacefully Dec. 7, 2016 at age 86. Walt, a native of St. Louis, retired from a career in telecommunication sales, traveling both domestically and internationally for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting in the Midwest and Canada, trap shooting and classic cars and boats. He founded the Plymouth chapter of Ducks Unlimited and was active for more than 30 years at Wayzata Community Church, serving on the board of deacons and ushering at many memorial services. Walt was a life-time member of the Independent Telephone Association and belonged to Wayzata Lodge AF & AM, Scottish Rite in St. Louis, Zuhrah Shrine in Minneapolis, the Royal Order of the Jesters and the L.O.B.'s. He is a past president of Westbranch Townhomes Association, Minnetonka Shrine Club and a former board member of the Plymouth and Buffalo gun clubs. Preceded in death by parents, August and Minna; infant sister, Hildegarde; brother-in-law, Dr. William J. Brennan; son-in-law, Darrell Kepler. Survived by Gladys, his wife of 64 years; daughters, Barbara (Tom) Pederson and Debra Kepler; grandchildren, Emily (Luis) Ortiz, Rachel Pederson, Ben Kepler, and Brian (Anna) Kepler; great-grandchildren, Dimitri and Maya Kepler. Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 13 at Wayzata Community Church, 125 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. Visitation one hour before church service. Private interment Lakewood Cemetery.
