Vlasek, William Joseph ("Bud") 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 2, 2016, at his home in Fort Myers, Florida. Bud was the son of Lucille and Joseph Vlasek. He is survived by his sister Janice Hammer, nieces Nancy Hirst, Julie Gordon, and Kim Lanham, nephew Joseph Vlasek, and many other family members. After graduating from North High School, he proudly served his country in the artillery during the Korean War. In retirement, he loved traveling throughout the world, a highlight being a visit with sister Janice to the Normandy beaches and memorials. He was an avid reader of economics, and a firm believer in the value of silver coins, which he collected. His generosity with family and friends knew no limits. His kind and gentle presence warmed family gatherings throughout his life. Uncle Bud will be loved and missed forever by all who knew him.
