Volney, Betty Jane Age 83, of Long Lake, passed away November 30. Preceded in death by parents Minnie and Daniel, brother Donald, sister Evangeline, beloved husband Vernon "Vic" Volney and beautiful baby girl Kimberly. Survived by daughters Lisa (William) and Kirstin (Peter); sons Michael (Diane) and Eric (Karen); grandchildren Daniel, Bethany, Katelyn, Ian, Andrew, Nicholas, Elise, Claire, Eliana and Vincent; great-grandchild Hunter. Betty enjoyed an idyllic childhood on her family farm in Williston, N.D. and was extremely proud of her Norwegian heritage. She was an active member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Mindekirken Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church and the American Swedish Institute. Her passion for entertaining family and friends as well as her charming yet feisty personality made her the light of every room. Special thanks to the staff at Trails of Orono, where she spent her final years. Memorial service to take place 10 a.m. Saturday, December 17 at Wayzata Community Church's Wakefield Chapel (125 Wayzata Boulevard East).
