Caroline (Reeves) Johnson

Johnson, Caroline (Reeves) died November 25th, peacefully at home in Durango, CO. She was born on November 28, 1948 in Minneapolis to Martha and Richard Reeves. She grew up in Edina, MN, but after finishing college, migrated west to northern California where she taught outdoor education and worked as a wilderness camp counselor. After marriage, she moved to Durango in 1984 and worked as an elementary school Spanish teacher. She was an accomplished landscape artist, loved nordic & alpine skiing, biking, kayaking, rafting, and in the last few years, surprised everyone when she decided to take up golf. But mostly she loved being on a high mountain trail or in a deep desert canyon, seeing what was around the next bend or over the next ridge. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Mac, daughter Tessa, and son Milo; brothers Jim Reeves & Scott Reeves; sisters Martha Reeves & Barb Marsh; and 20 nieces and nephews.
