Born in St. Paul on February 23, 1933, Helen grew up in "the country," (Rosemount), and moved to St. Paul in 7th grade. She attended St. Columba Catholic Grade School and graduated from Wilson High School in 1950. She worked at Waldorf Paper Company before getting married on June 26, 1954. Her life centered around faith and her family, volunteering countless hours at church, children's schools and in the community. Taking pride in her home, she also enjoyed baking, traveling, camping, entertaining and attending ALL special events and extra-curricular activities. She was a super-fan of Minnesota sports and Notre Dame football. She took special pride in her 100% Irish heritage, perfect penmanship, "Cookie Day," and family members' accomplishments and milestones. With a special blend of humility, compassion and generosity, she inspired all who knew her. She was an eternal optimist who offered hope in all situations, assuring family and friends "the Lord only gives you what you can handle." Her family had extra "protection" with an abundance of holy water and religious medals she provided. It was our distinct privilege to call her wife, mom, grandma and more. Many thanks to Dr. Priya Kumar, Dr. Thomas Zurbriggen, and Dr. Marco Guerrero and their teams, along with Lakeview Homecare and Hospice and the Gables at Boutwells for their genuine support, healing touch and loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the American Liver Foundation. Mass intentions are appreciated. Simonet Funeral Home 651-439-7770
