James David '(Jim)' Decker

Decker, James David (Jim) age 76, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Preceded in death by parents Raymond and Evelyn Decker, infant daughter Mary Catherine, and brother Ray. Survived by life partner, Kathleen Livingston, step-son David Livingston, step-granddaughter, Lilly; sister Kathleen Decker; and his loving family in California: daughters Elizabeth (Jerry) Bogan and Anne (Bob) Palacios and his grandchildren whom he took such pride in: Casey and Daniel Bogan; Jenifer, Julie, Marc, Maria and Megan Palacios; many cousins and nephews and niece Paula Decker O'Brien. Jim loved planning family reunions with cousins, Barb Anderson and Rich Benson to celebrate their Swedish heritage. His creativity, quick wit, and fun-loving nature will be missed by his family and life-long friends, many from his 1958 Superior WI graduating class. Jim's long career in the Twin Cities as an art director, designer and illustrator began after his graduation from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1961. His family wants to express their deep gratitude to the wonderful medical staff at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center and to the staff of Martin Luther Care Center, Bloomington.
