Nelson, Dorothy J. (nee Hanson) age 98, died December 1, 2016, into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born March 11, 1918 in Forest City, Iowa, to Knut and Gina Hanson. After marriage to Elmer C. Nelson of Maple Lake, MN on May 21, 1939, they moved to Minneapolis, MN where they lived until 1946 when they moved to Forest City, IA. In 1953 they again moved to Minneapolis until 1980 when they began to split their time between Minneapolis and Mesa, AZ. Dorothy worked for some years in the Boos dental laboratory, and then at Dayton's Department store in the stationery sales administration office. Dorothy is survived by her sons, The Rev. Karl (Kathy) Nelson, Sheboygan, WI, and their children, David (Sara) Nelson and their children Theodore and Avery, Chicago, IL, and Sarah Nelson, St. Petersburg, FL and son The Rev. Keith (Ann) Nelson, Omaha, NE, and their children Matthew (George) Nelson, London, England, and Adam (Jay) Nelson, Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, of 59 years on August 21, 1998, her parents and her six siblings, Mildred, Enid, John, Ruth, Margaret, and Barbara. A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be inurned at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale, MN.
