Wallinder, Dorothy E. age 97, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully in her sleep October 26, 2016. Preceded in death by her parents Peter & Emma Larson; husband Robert; sister Lucille. Survived by brother, Laurence (Alma) Larson; sons Gary (Herta), Richard (Cathy); grandchildren Brad, Brea (Brent) Decosse; great grandchildren Stella, Sophia and Petra; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Born June 19, 1919 in Marietta, MN, she had many fond memories of farm life with her grandparents Albert and Betsy Johnson who were pioneers in the area and Norwegian was spoken. City lights drew her to Minneapolis where she attended secretarial school and met many lifelong friends. With husband Robert, they built a life and a home on Diamond Lake in South Minneapolis. Once the children were gone, world travel became her passion and she worked for years as a travel guide for Schilling and Daytons travel. Hawaii became their snowbird destination. As a Depression era girl, she hated to throw away anything "useful" and kept virtually every card you have sent her, bless you friends.
